EQDG at Barkapalooza

Enjoy a day filled with fun, food, games, a dog-friendly run/walk, and live entertainment while helping to end animal homelessness. The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is thrilled to host the 29th annual Barkapalooza 5k Run and Rescue Fest in person on Sunday, Sept. 25, at Lisle Community Park from 9:00am – 1:00pm.
Stop by the EQDG table to say hi, learn about our work to support the LGBTQIA+ community, and how you can get involved.
The Barkapalooza race begins at 8:00am with a Blessing for the Animals at 9:00am. From there, attendees can meet and learn about other local rescue groups, browse dozens of vendor booths featuring local businesses that offer pet-related products and services, and enjoy delectable creations from food trucks and Barkapalooza’s annual bake sale. Attendees can participate in numerous raffles and other games with prizes throughout the day while their dogs enjoy doggie pedicures, artistic grooming, massages, a photo booth, and more.
